At the October dinner meeting, the Schomberg Lions hosted Derek Rumball from the Bob Rumball Organization along with the Nobleton and King City Lions. The Bob Rumball Organization provides housing and support for people who are deaf. In particular, our District A-12, has been instrumental over the past 25 years, by helping to build facilities and subsidizing campers attending the Bob Rumball Camp of the Deaf. The camp now serves about 700 campers each year. If you know of a camper who would benefit from this, please contact the Bob Rumball Organization or Schomberg Lions Club. The tree and plaque commemorating Lion Bill Hanlon’s 35 years of service, was recently planted at the Trisan Centre. Please join us on November 11, 2019 at the Trisan for our Remembrance Day Ceremony. It will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by light refreshments. Our 50/50 raffle draw tickets are on sale for $5 each from any Lion. Watch for us at Foodland. The draw will take place Dec. 10, 2019 and should have a winning pot of over $2000. That’s a nice way to pay off some Christmas bills and help your community at the same time.
